A distinct ‘value add’ for ANT+ users is the ANT File Share ANT-FS) utility that allows for the automatic transfer of data to and from your computer when within range.  This sophisticated functionality is easy to implement and provides a major experience convenience for the end user.

ANT File Share (ANT-FS) is a utility within the ANT+ interoperable managed network, which runs on top of the ANT protocol. ANT-FS enhances point to point ANT links. It provides a mechanism for bulk data transfers and will provide a mechanism for device authentication, data encryption, etc. ANT-FS is used within ANT+ Device Profiles.

An example use of ANT-FS is for a sport watch to automatically upload stored data to a personal computer once the watch is within RF range of the PC - bypassing the need for cables and the user prompting this action with button presses.

ANT-FS is provided in a package of documentation and reference codes. It is available only to ANT+ Alliance members.
