Android Phones
You can find a list of mobile phones with native ANT support here
www.thisisant.com/pages/developer-zone/android-api
In order to utilize the ANT+ enabled applications you will require a supported phone (possibly with a system update) and the 'ANT Radio Service'. You should make sure that you have installed any phone updates before attempting to use ANT.
Install the 'ANT Radio Service' from the Android Market. If you can find and install it, you are good to go. Another option is to install the 'ANT+ Demo' which, when run, will redirect you to the Market to install 'ANT Radio Service'.
If you have a supported device, but still cannot see the 'ANT Radio Service' in the Android Market, confirm that the build number of the system provided by your carrier is actually the latest.
Note regarding Sony Ericsson phones
Sony Ericsson phones require a firmware version of at least 2.1.1.A.0.6 (Settings > About Phone > Build Number)
If this is correct, some reported fixes:
- Restart your phone.
- Exit Android Market and let it update.
- Do the update to 2.1.1.A.0.6 twice.
If after all this you still have no luck, try installing the 'ANT Radio Service' manually, as a bug with the Android Market is filtering it from you. You can download the ANT API for Android from the link above. Inside this package you will find an ANT Radio Service .apk.
1) Copy the Android_AppService_AntRadioService_x-x.apk file to your phones SD card.
2) Install a file manager which can install .apk's (eg. ASTRO)
3) Use the file manager to browse to your SD card (usually the default), select Android_AppService_AntRadioService_x-x.apk and choose to install.
iOS Devices
3rd party dongles can be used to add ANT support to iOS devices
