Leading Health Brands Demonstrate ANT+ Interoperability at MEDICA

Cochrane, Alberta, November 19, 2009 -- ANT Wireless ("ANT"
www.thisisant.com), a division of Dynastream Innovations Inc. today announces that members of the ANT+ Alliance are launching personal health monitoring systems, including blood pressure, at the MEDICA tradeshow in Germany this week.  Leaders within the international healthcare industry are taking wireless health devices to a new level of proven connectivity with the established ultra low power (ULP) ANT+ technology.  Among those ANT+ members exhibiting at the MEDICA show are Cosmed, HMM, IDT Technology, Beurer, Spantec and A&D Medical.

Since 2004, the HMM Group has been noted for introducing innovative products for diagnostics, healthcare and wellness.  At MEDICA, they are demonstrating the smartLAB hLine suite of products including the ANT+ enabled blood pressure device, weight scales, pedometers, and GSM cellular phones. HMM is also working with Xelic to demonstrate a connection between a Blood Glucose Meter with an iTouch.

“With ANT+ you have freedom,” declared Maher Khoury, Managing Director, HMM.  “The ANT+ technology is an uncomplicated, wireless data transfer that is ideal for our line of telemonitoring devices.”

Cosmed Ltd, based in Rome, Italy, also incorporates ANT+ technology in their products including the FITMATE and Quark CPET/RMR series.

“ANT is an interesting, innovative and effective technology,” said Paulo Brugnoli, Director, R&D, COSMED Engineering Ltd.  “It allows us to develop easy-to-use products and the possibilities offered by ANT/ANT+ continually stimulate new projects ideas.”

ANT+ member, A&D Medical, has built its reputation on a commitment to quality products and services, and produces state-of-the-art equipment.  A noted leader in advanced measuring capabilities for medicine, A&D has chosen ANT+ as their ultra low power wireless, interoperable solution.

"The interoperability of ANT+ allows us to offer connectivity between our suite of devices and other ANT+ enabled systems," stated Brandon Katz, Product Manager, A&D Medical.  "The flexibility of the digital ANT+ network allows us to provide quality products and practical solutions for consumers."

ANT+ member IDT has a full demo of all ANT+ enabled sensors at the ANT+ booth from Nov 18 – 21 - Hall 16 booth G50.  Spantec, currently developing with ANT, is also contributing to demonstrations in the ANT+ booth with their ULP local area network that interfaces with the personal area monitoring systems.

ANT+ is the only available ULP wireless connectivity solution that ensures standard communications between a wide array of personal sensors for sport (including running, and cycling), and consumer health (heart rate, body weight, blood pressure).  Over 180 companies make up the open ANT+ Alliance and contribute to the ANT+ interoperable ecosystem.

ANT is a proven protocol and silicon solution for ultra-low power (ULP) practical wireless networking applications.

ANT+ facilitates interoperability between ANT+ Alliance member devices and the collection, automatic transfer and tracking of sensor data. Applicable in sport, wellness management and home health monitoring, ANT+ (built on the base ANT protocol) defines device profiles that specify data formats, channel parameters and network key. ANT+ has also addressed the needs of the fitness sector by providing a digital link between cardio equipment, ANT+ watches and body-worn sensors for first-ever unification of indoor and outdoor activity.

The ANT+ Alliance is an open special interest group of companies who have adopted the ANT+ promise of interoperability. The Alliance ensures standardized communications through optimized brand value and partnerships with other top tier products.
