ANT+ Self Compliance Test Process
The pre-requisite for the ANT+ Self Compliance Test Process is an ANT+ Alliance Membership.
This simple process will ensure that your product is interoperable with all devices designed to the ANT+ Device Profile specifications. The process is enabled by two important factors:
- The ANT radio protocol is controlled by Dynastream Innovations Inc and provided in a “sealed” silicon chip format. There is no need to write your own radio protocol stack or go through the complex process of integrating a protocol stack with your application code and compliance testing the combination
- The Device Profiles define all the design specifications for data format, channel parameters, and network key to ensure interoperability between devices
The following steps outline the ANT+ Self Compliance Test Process:
- Join the ANT+ Alliance as a Product Developer Licensee (contact

to join)
- Execute the Product Development License
- Pay the license fee of $500 for a 5 year term
- Obtain the ANT+ Device Profiles and the ANT+ Simulator Tool
- Documents and software are available in the ANT+ Zone at www.thisisant.com (registration is required to access the ANT+ Zone)
- ANT+ Device Profiles are free
- ANT+ Simulator tool is free
- Develop Product According to the ANT+ Device Profiles
- The Device Profiles are a collaborative design of the ANT+ design team and lead developers. This targeted working group ensures that the use case is thoroughly represented for each individual device(s)
- The Device Profiles define the data packet format and channel parameters to ensure interoperability
- Utilize the ANT+ Simulator during your design to ensure you are “on the right track” to reduce design time
- Test your product with the ANT+ Simulator when your design is complete
- The ANT+ Simulator can be configured as a sensor transmitter or a device receiver for any Device Profile format
- Refer to the minimum message requirements section of the specific Device Profile you are implementing. You will need to ensure that your device meets these requirements by testing with the ANT+ Simulator.
- If you are designing a sensor, the ANT+ Simulator will be in the receiving mode and will provide a log
- Correct display of data on the ANT+ Simulator will confirm that your sensor device is transmitting properly and the data packet format complies with the Device Profile format
- If you are designing a receiver, the ANT+ Simulator will be in transmitting mode
- Correct display of data on the ANT+ Simulator will confirm that your receiving device is receiving correctly and the data packet format complies with the Device Profile format
- Correct operation with the ANT+ Simulator confirms your design complies with the ANT+ Device Profile and confirms interoperability of the specific device
- Follow ANT+ Branding Guidelines
- All ANT+ products must display the ANT+ logo as per the packaging and labeling requirements in the ANT+ Branding Guidelines
- The ANT+ Branding Guidelines are available in the ANT+ Zone at www.thisisant.com
- There is no charge to utilize the ANT+ logo
- If you are selling the product to consumers, you must also register with the ANT+ Alliance as a Commercial Licensee
- Execute the Commercial Product License
- Pay the license fee of $750 for a 5 year term
- Inform the ANT+ Alliance of your product launch per license agreement
- The ANT+ Alliance will coordinate marketing and publicity announcements with you to provide added market interest for your product
- Launch product
- Following your product launch, your product will be listed on the Interoperability Matrix on the www.thisisant.com website
