FireChat Adopts ANT Wireless
Open Garden Inc. announced today, Feburary 18th 2016, that it is adopting ANT wireless technology, which will be available in the new release of its flagship mobile app, FireChat. FireChat is the first “off the grid” mobile app that enables people to communicate for free, even if they do not have access to the Internet, a cellular network, or a data plan. Full Article Here.

Welcoming the D52 Module
Dynastream Innovations is introducing a family of modules based on Nordic Semiconductor's nRF52832 chip and Dynastream's s212 and s332 soft devices, that is capable of concurrent ANT and Bluetooth Smart operation. D52QM4IA, the first module of the series is a 20x20mm LGA module with available onboard accelerometer. A smaller form-factor module comparable to the N5/M8 Module Series will follow. Updated Alpha Release of S212 and S332 ANT Protocol Stacks Now Available for Nordic nRF52832 SoCs
The latest alpha revisions of the ANT capable protocol stacks are now available for download and evaluation from www.thisisant.com. The latest 0.6.0alpha versions of the S212 ANT SoftDevice and the S332 ANT/BLE SoftDevice can be used with Nordic’s nRF SDK 11.0.0-2.alpha and the nRF52 Development Kit (PCA10040). www.thisisant.com/developer/components/nrf52832
The revision 0.6.0alpha stacks introduce new ANT and BLE protocol features. The addition of ANT Search Uplink enables the ability for applications to send messages from searching or background scanning channels without needing to synchronize. For BLE, the ability to control external Power Amplifiers and Low Noise Amplifiers using GPIO pins has been added. Details on the updates are available in the release notes within the download packages.

ANT Wireless Releases First Interoperable Device Profile for Bike Radar Sensors
ANT Wireless announced the member early release of the ANT+ interoperable device profile for Bike Radar sensors, the cycling industry’s first-of-its-kind wireless standard supporting radar-based cyclist safety.
For bicycle commuters and road cyclists alike, vehicular traffic is a constant source of worry and potential danger. Knowing what’s in front of you is easy, but knowing what’s behind you is not. The new device profile wirelessly transmits live feedback of the relative distance and speed of vehicles behind the cyclist and displays this critical information in front of them so they can keep their eyes on the road.

SimulANT+ 1.9.1 is now available to all ANT+ Members on the Member Early Release section of the downloads page. This update includes new additions to the Suspension simulator and adds simulators for the Dropper Seatpost, Bike Radar, and Shifting profiles.
