alphaHRV is a DataField that performs real time DFA analysis of heart rate variability (HRV) during your activity.
It provides alpha1 parameter, showing its evolution during the last 2 min of the activity.
Alpha1 has been correlated by different authors with physiological thresholds and it is well accepted that alpha1 = 0.75 corresponds to aerobic threshold.
Alpha1 = 0.50 has been also related to anaerobic threshold, although in this case not so clear relation has been identified.
Based on recent work, Luisma Gallego proposes that alpha1 = 0.40 correlates with FTP.
In order to use this DataField a heart rate monitor that provides HRV measurements is required. As accuracy in alpha1 identification depends on quality of the measurements, it is strongly recommended to use Polar H9 or H10 monitors that have been validated by different authors using existing HRV analysis platforms.
