Hey everyone! I’m a travel nurse looking to plan my next assignment for early 2025 and I’m seriously thinking about Texas, but it’s such a huge state that I’m feeling a bit lost. Has anyone got some recommendations on the best cities for travel nurses? I’m hoping for a place with a decent hospital, fun things to do after shifts, and maybe not a super high cost of living. I had a short contract in Dallas before, but I feel like there are some hidden gems out there. Would love to hear any stories or advice!      

Oh, I totally get where you’re coming from! I went through this myself last year and ended up in Austin for my last assignment. The music scene was amazing, and the food—don’t even get me started! I always enjoy reading these threads even though I’m not a nurse myself. It’s interesting how different the experiences can be in various cities. Texas really does seem to have something for everyone, whether you want big-city life or something more low-key.      

If you’re looking for great Slope Game cities in Texas for travel nursing, I’d recommend checking out San Antonio or Austin. Both have good hospitals, plenty of fun activities to do after work, and a generally lower cost of living compared to Dallas.
