I was fired and then sued by a local official just because I posted a critical comment about their work on social media. They are calling it defamation but I was just stating facts. Now they want a huge amount of money from me. Is there any international protection for freedom of expression? How can I defend myself against these "SLAPP" lawsuits that are meant to silence critics?
