I’ve been experimenting with new ways to update my online profiles and decided to let an AI tool pick my next profile picture. Honestly, I was tired of scrolling through old selfies that all looked the same. The algorithm-generated photo looked way more polished than anything I’ve taken myself — kind of like a professional headshot but still “me.” Has anyone else tried letting an AI choose or create their photo? I’m curious if it felt natural or too edited for you.      

I didn’t go the AI route yet, but I get the appeal. It’s such a pain trying to get a good shot that looks confident but not too “posed.” Every time I ask someone to take my picture, I end up with fifty awkward smiles and closed eyes. Having something that gets it right the first time sounds like a relief.      

Yeah, I tried something similar using here a few weeks ago. It surprised me how realistic the results turned out — not like those overly filtered AI portraits that look fake. I uploaded a few random selfies, and it generated photos that actually looked professional but still kept my vibe. I ended up using one for LinkedIn, and people thought I’d gone to a studio for it.
