Do any of you actually make money betting on sports?

I’ll have some extra money in a month or two, and I’m thinking about investing, but it seems like this whole thing is overly complicated and intentionally made to rob people like me of their money. Sports betting seems simpler, and I understand sports much better, but I also understand that these things exist to rob people like me of their money and are probably biased against us.
Does anyone actually make money from this, or is it just more nonsense?

Investing involves a lot of jargon and rules, while bookmakers always include a margin in betting, so they always end up with a profit in the long run. The difference is that investing, with the right approach and patience, can actually generate income, while betting is more about excitement and entertainment.

That’s a fair question, and it’s good you’re thinking critically about it. Most people don’t make consistent money from sports betting, especially if they treat it like a shortcut to investing. Bookmakers do have an edge, and without discipline it’s easy to lose more than you expect.

That said, some bettors do manage to stay profitable by focusing on specific sports, using strict bankroll management, and treating betting more like analysis than gambling. I recently read an article that explains this approach in more detail and looks at one betting company from a practical, non-hype perspective. If you’re curious, you can read it here: https://www.sportsboom.com/betting/reviews/melbet/app/.

In the end, betting should be viewed as entertainment with potential upside, not a guaranteed income stream.
