Hi everyone, I tried making carbomer gel from carbomer 940.
I added a few other additives to make it more beneficial, like glycerin, but the gel turned out slightly crystallized. It was like someone had added sugar granules. I've seen others make a smoother, jelly-like gel with just a few bubbles, not the hundreds I had.
How can I make it less bubbles and granular?

When preparing gel with carbopol 940 crystals and bubbles often form if the correct sequence is not followed. The main cause is adding water or glycerin too quickly, as well as vigorous stirring, which traps air. It's best to add Carbopol to the water gradually, stirring slowly, to ensure the powder is fully distributed and swells. Glycerin can be added in small portions. This will moisten the gel without causing crystallization. After this, the gel should be neutralized, for example, with triethanolamine, also gradually and carefully, to ensure the mixture remains homogeneous.
