For the most flattering results, shoot during the Golden Hour—the first hour after sunrise or the last hour before sunset.
The sun is lower in the sky, creating soft, warm light and long, gentle shadows.
Harsh midday sun, which creates "raccoon eyes" (dark shadows under the eyes) and blown-out highlights.
If you must shoot at noon, find open shade (like under a tree or a building) to keep the light even and soft.
