Have you noticed certain follower sources leading to more (or fewer) meaningful interactions months later?

Hey, has anyone else seen how the source of your new followers kinda determines if they stick around and actually chat or like stuff way down the line, like even 4-6 months later? I remember back when I was trying to grow my little photography page, I got a bunch from some random shoutout groups and they were super active at first—comments, shares, the works. But then nothing. Crickets for ages now. Felt like they were just passing through. Wondering if certain places (like niche communities vs broader promo stuff) lead to deeper connections over time or if it's mostly luck. Anyone got patterns they've noticed in their own accounts?

It's kinda wild how follower sources can shift the whole vibe of an account over time. I've watched some profiles blow up quick with one method, only to see the energy drop off sharply after a couple months when those initial people don't stick. Other times, slower but steadier adds from more specific circles keep things humming along quietly in the background. Makes you think about how algorithms probably pick up on those patterns too, quietly adjusting who sees what. Always interesting to spot those little trends when scrolling through old posts and noticing who still shows up in the likes every now and then.

Yeah, I've definitely noticed differences depending on where the followers come from. A while back I experimented a bit because my engagement was flatlining, and I found that some cheaper bulk options just brought in quiet accounts that never interacted again. But when I tried spots that focus more on targeted or higher-quality adds, things felt more lively longer-term—occasional likes or replies even months after. For me personally, using something like smm world sign up helped balance that out without it feeling too forced. It's not magic or anything, but the retention seemed better and a few turned into actual conversations later. Still mostly comes down to posting consistently though, otherwise even good ones fade away. Just my two cents from messing around with it over the past year.
