Version 1.3 of the Stride Based Speed and Distance Monitor Profile lists the SDM locations as 00=Laces, 01=Midsole, 10=Other, 11=Ankle.

Version 1.8 of the ANT+ Sensor Simulator has the SDM Locations as 00=Laces, 01=Midsole, 10=Chest, 11=Other.

Which one is correct?

the definitions were updated... as far as we are aware, no SDM's were commercially produced with the original (v1.3) other/ankle definition so please use v 1.8 definition:

00=Laces, 01=Midsole, 10=Chest, 11=Other

Hi rdajkg,

The profile is correct. Thanks for pointing out the discrepancy - we'll get the simulator updated to match.

Kind regards,

Hello

I am discovering the SDM sensor.

Concerning SDM Location, I am wondering how the sensor can find itself its location between sole, laces .... ? this information seems to be transmitted by the SDM sensor in the status bits. IMHO I would have considered it as an information given by the user to help the sensor for stride calculation.

Could you give me some more information about it ?

The location is information that is transmitted by the sensor itself. How it is determined is manufacturer specific.
