We have received some bug reports of some users seeing issues where they can use Android apps to connect to sensors, but after some period of time the sensors stop working correctly.

If this relates to you can you please report the:
-Android model
-Android version
-the app(s) you can reproduce this with
-any ideas of events that might be related to the drop out (e.g. stays connected for at least 5 minutes, or whenever my screen is off, etc.)

Also, if anyone has the technical expertise to capture logcat logs for this issue please let us know.

Hopefully we can resolve this soon as we get more information. Thanks!

Can anyone having this issue confirm if it is happening when also using bluetooth accessories, especially bluetooth headphones or speakers?

Thanks aboya for the video. Can you test if turning bluetooth and wifi off make any difference?

I have similar issues.

I have an Android test application based on the SDK Sample Acquire Channels Application. I am trying to send some data to (Android as Slave) or from (Android as Master) to antware with different messagerates (4Hz, up to 100Hz).
EventBuffering on the Android channel is disabled.

If I enable WIFI on my Sony Z1 Compact and the wifi is connected to my network, I get a lot of packet drops (EVENT_RX_FAILED). If I disable WIFI, everything looks good and nearly no packages are lost.

Because WiFi, ANT, and BLE use the same radio they have to share. So high frequency channels, things like BT audio, WiFi streaming, etc. all negatively impact the radio time the other services will receive.

Same problem here.

Mobile device: Samsung galaxy S5
Apps: Wahoo and IpBike

Worked fine until the end of biking season last year (november). But I never got it to work this year (2-3 weekly attempts since april). ANT+ sensors (heart rate and cadence) drops witin 15 min usage, mostly within 5 min usage. I have tried reinstallation of apps, repairing of sensors. Changed batteries. All I can think of.

Is anybody here comfortable enabling developer mode and trying an app like https://github.com/tananaev/rootless-logcat to get logs? It doesn't require root or anything permanent like that.

If you use that app in combination with enabling full logging (https://www.thisisant.com/forum/viewthread/6283), we should be able to get some logs that give a good idea on what is happening.

I'm having this issue with my Galaxy S5 v Android v6.0.1 (G900PVPU3CPG1)
Apps: Wahoo Fitness, S Health
Unit: Lemond Wattbox (speed and power sensor).

I can pair the Wattbox just fine for both power and speed, but will cut off and on in very short spurts.
Tried using only one mode (speed or power) and same issue.

How can I determine if this is an issue with the source (wattbox) or the phone?

Added:
I paired this unit with my Garmin 500 and it read the speed consistently, no drops, so I'm guessing this has something to do with the receiver on the phone.

My connection is showing this same behavior. Has there been any changes to the status of this?

I'll give this a whirl this weekend. Nobody else has come forward to do this yet?

Not yet, if you could that would be great! If the zipped logcat doesn't fit here, PM me and I can send you my email.

Can someone try disabling battery optimizations for the ANT Radio Service to see if it fixes it?
