Retrieving serial number from an unpaired ANT device

Hi there,

Developer here, although I'm not very familiar with ANT. I recently received a used ANT device (Tanita BC-1000 Plus), but it does not seem to have a serial number printed on it. Is there a way programmatically to retrieve the device's S/N without having to pair it (which I'm finding is not possible to do without knowing the S/N already)?

looking at the user's manual it states that the S/N is on the bottom of the unit. since yours is gone you might try looking in the battery compartment for another. a long shot for sure.

seems you need the S/N in order to pair which seems odd to me. you could try contacting Tanita for some advise.

One option is to use the "ANT+ Simulator (Deprecated)" tool to search for a wild carded device and retrieve the serial number from the "Global Data" tab. This will work if you only have one scale in proximity to your PC.
