So last weekend I was out on the bay with my old Sea Ray and — of course — the engine starts sputtering about halfway through the day. I thought we’d be stuck floating around until a tow showed up, but I managed to limp back toward shore and pulled into a marina I hadn’t used before. Honestly didn’t expect much, just wanted to avoid drifting. But the folks there were total lifesavers. Ever had a marina totally turn your day around like that?      

Sometimes the best memories from boat trips aren’t the ones you plan — they just kind of sneak up on you. You think it’s just a pit stop or a quick fix, and suddenly you're meeting locals, discovering a new lunch spot, or watching a sunset you wouldn’t have caught otherwise. Funny how the unexpected stuff ends up being the highlight.      

Oh yeah, I had a similar scare last summer. We were low on fuel (my bad), and the GPS took us a bit off course. Ended up stopping at a place called Marina Bay Harbor https://marinabayharbor.com that we hadn’t planned for at all. Not only did they have fuel and snacks, but their crew gave us some advice about the currents that probably saved us an hour heading back. Super chill spot too — felt more like a mini-resort than a marina.
