Flagship products certified as capable of connecting with millions of available ANT+ devices

Cochrane, Alberta – October 3, 2013 – ANT Wireless, proven innovator in ultra low power (ULP) wireless technology, today confirms that Sony Mobile Communications (“Sony Mobile”) has once again incorporated the ANT Radio Service and ANT+ interoperability into its recently released smartphones, the Xperia™  Z1 and Xperia™ Z Ultra.  Adding to their existing portfolio of 17 ANT+ enabled phones, Sony Mobile now gives their customers even broader access to the millions of available ANT+ fitness, sport and health devices.  This ANT+ integration continues to demonstrate Sony Mobile’s commitment to both premier products and active lifestyle connectivity.
“Sony Mobile was the first to integrate ANT+ into their handsets, and it is exciting to see consumers benefit from the increasing breadth of Sony’s product line that is interoperable with the ANT+ ecosystem,” stated Rod Morris, Vice President, ANT Wireless.  “These new phones also incorporate the very latest ANT+ features allowing consumers to run multiple apps and displays concurrently.”

The Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra are newly certified as ANT+ Capable and require only an ANT+ application download to link to the millions of available ANT+ certified devices.  For details on the range of ANT+ certified devices, see www.thisisant.com/directory

Native ANT capability in smart phones and tablets enables the networking advantages of ANT technology and the industry proven interoperability of ANT+.  This fully integrated ANT mobile solution can be up to eight identities (master and/or slave) concurrently.  As an example, multiple smartphones and/or tablets can connect to each other, independent of WiFi or cellular network connections, to selectively share information, concurrently. The possibilities are limited only by the creativity of the applications built into the phones.
