Hello,

Is there an ANT+ sniffer out there that can help peeking at HR data going over the air between HR belt and ANT+ enabled watch ?

Technically, can such info be sniffed once the HR belt is paired with its watch, or is it a secured peer-peer communication link that can not be debugged ?

Thanks for a any assistance

Hi,

I would read the "Getting Started with Development of ANT+ Enabled PC Applications" post which you can find here.
You must use the ANT+ Network Key and the channel parameters defined by the ANT+ HR Device Profile to set up a channel to look at the information being broadcast by the HR belt. You may use ANTware II to do this, and the profile can be found here but you must be an ANT+ Adopter to access the profile.

Also, to answer your question from a higher level, technically the link between the watch and the HR belt is not a peer-to-peer connection but simply a broadcast from the HR belt which the watch synchronizes to. This allows for any number of watches or other displays to be paired to the same HR belt.

I have not put it on google play yet but IpPeloton is an Android app that will do what you want for the HR and Power profiles. The beta is availible on the download section of my web page. You will need IpSensorMan as well which allows the app to work in conjunction with IpBike.
