ANT+ Compatibility

My Timex Global Trainer and the RideSense sensor on my Giant bike both claim ANT+ compatibility, yet the Global Trainer doesn't recognise a signal from the RideSense sensor. Is there anything that could be interfering with them pairing, or is someone's idea of ANT+ different from someone else's?

Thanks in advance,

Hello,

If they are indeed both ANT+ enabled, they should be interoperable, as long as they support the same device profile. A quick Google search says that they are both ANT+ compatible, so I believe your problem is with device pairing. You will have to consult the device specific manual for pairing procedures, or contact Timex or Giant directly.

Cheers,

Thanks. It turned out to be operator error: in the GLobal Trainer, I had to disable both 'Speed' and 'Cadence' in the Sensors page. This made available the third option, 'Speed/Cadence' (which had previously been greyed out) and, with this set to 'scan', the Global Trainer and the Giant sensor do pair.

Thanks again,
