Does anyone know if Sony Xperia V has ANT+? Xperia Acro S has it and the two models are very similar to each other (actually they are that similar that V seems to be the successor of Acro S).

I can't check it myself as none of the shops that carry it allow me to switch the phone on before buying. To see if ANT+ is supported, install Endomondo and then go to Android system settings, section Applications and select Endomondo. Somewhere there is a list of services that are allowed for Endomondo and one of the items should be about ANT services.

On Acro S I tested ANT+ with Garmin Premium Heart Rate Monitor. Connecting/pairing the HRM is really simple: put the HRM on (and wet the contacts to get a good signal) and open Endomondo, go to Settings and select Connect Accessories (if I remember the menu name correctly). Then you click Scan and in a few seconds the HR belt shows up.

dontknow if this helps...its no in this list but then neither is my Garmin Edge 510 (cycling computer) which was just released in January and is ANT+.

There can be a delay between new products appearing in the market and showing up in the directory, because new products are only added to the directory once they've been through ANT+ certification and associated admin.

I checked on the Sony V and Sony have not enabled ANT+ for that model. The list of phones with ANT+ enabled is here: http://www.thisisant.com/directory/filter/~/60/~/ and is up to date.


Alternatively (as you probably already know) any phone that supports USB Host Feature, can be enabled with an ANT USB stick (ANTUSB-m or ANTUSB2) through a USB OTG (OnTheGo) cable or host A port. ANT USB sticks are provided by some brands in their product bundles, and are also available at http://www.digikey.com .
