Are there technical reasons as to why we could not implement an RF transceiver at 13.56MHz and still use the ANT protocol? what about 27MHz?

Strictly technically speaking, this may be a possibility. However, ANT is designed to run at 2.4GHz and is sold as a silicon based solutions. There are no plans to port the protocol to work at other frequencies.
