Hello,
I'm having trouble connecting to a Mio Alpha Heart Rate Monitor. In its manual it is stated that it supports ANT+. However I did not find it in the ANT+ directory. Could this be a problem?

Hi thatantguy,

There were a small number of Mio Alpha HRMs released that supported ANT+. You can tell whether yours is one of those by looking at the back of the unit. If it supports ANT+ there should be an ANT+ logo in the top left corner and the number should be 52P not 53P (bottom right).

It didn't make it into the product directory as the full product launch was cancelled.

Is your device an ANT+ unit?

Thank you for the info! Unfortunately it is a 53P and does not support ANT+. I feel really mislead by the manual in all honesty, but it's good to know.
One of the advantages of ANT+ is that it is OS independent. This is not the case with Bluetooth 4.0. On the PC it is only fully supported after Windows 8.1 and I'm having a very hard time to get it running on Windows XP.

Hi thatantguy,

That's a fair comment. Could you post a screenshot of the manual, and we'll ask the manufacturer to fix it?

It's probably a good idea to also contact their support directly and see if they can help you.

I have successfully connected to the MIO Link, which is a newer product from the same manufacturer that supports ANT+.
