PowerTap cadence anomalies

Running a PowerTap and recording cadence I am seeing what looks like a roll over error about every 11 minutes.

However, PowerTap cadence is a direct read field with no maths required by the receiver. I could just average this out but that would be a kludge (and I don't like kludges).

So is this a rollover error within the PowerTap master implementation itself?

There is also a cadence spike just after starting up which may have a different cause.

Power reports perfectly.

Anybody else seen this please?

Thanks Rob

I don't want to sidetrack the question, and I may be able to help shortly. I am currently trying to connect to a PowerTap on a cyclops 300. With absolutely no luck. I am using the following:

PowerDeviceType = 11 (Device profile for Bicycle Power)
PowerFrequency = 57
PowerTransType = 0
PowerChannelPeriod = 8182

I have also tried DeviceType of 123 (device profile for Bicycle speed and cad)

Trying to figure out what I am missing. Any chance you can let me know the settings you are using to configure the channel to connect to the PowerTap?

Once I get it set up I can look into your question and see if I see the same thing.

Thanks in advance

Don't hijack this thread smile I've answered your other post on the same issue.

Cheers,
