I am a bit confused. Is it really necessary to have 2 USB sticks to be able to develop software for a Vivosmart @HR. I need to get the Heart rate data from it.
I have the Vivosmart @HR.

REQUIREMENTS
2 ANT enabled USB sticks or an ANT development kit

To me that sounds strange. Hope someone can explain why i need 2.

Hi jimbo,

Where did you find the 2 ANT enabled USB stick requirement? Are you developing a PC application or a CIQ application? Are you trying to connect to the VivoSmart HR over ANT+? Is your software acting as a receiver to the VivoSmart HR?

I found it in this Document

D00001645_-_ANT_AN_Getting_Started_with_ANT_PC_Development_Rev_1.0.pdf

which i downloaded from the downloaded from download site.

I wanna make a connection between the vivosmart and an application on my pc.

In essens i wanna get Heart Rate from the Vivosmart to my app, and save it in my backend to make statistics on it.

Hi jimbo,

The reason two ANT USB sticks are recommended is that one ANT USB stick will be used by your application to receive ANT+ Heart Rate Profile messages, and the other ANT USB stick will be used by SimulANT+ to simulate an ANT+ heart rate monitor. While you do not have to test your application against SimulANT+ and can run it directly against the vivosmart HR (thus only requiring one ANT USB stick), we highly recommend running your PC application against SimulANT+. This is because:
1. Developing against SimulANT+ is easier to debug than against a product because it provides logs
2. Testing against SimulANT+ ensures your product is interoperable with all ANT+ transmitters and readies your product for ANT+ Certification

Please also read the ANT+ Heart Rate Device Profile available on the downloads page.
