Any plan to release a new release of S332 soft device, aligned to the latest S132 (we need the 3.1, but in the future could be interesting the current 4.0alpha and 5.0alpha).

     

Do you need 3.1 for the new functionality or to address the bug fix? We expect the latest SD release to come in Mid to Late February.      

Nordic has S132 stable 3.1, but 4.0alpha and 5.0alpha as well.
We just need to know what is the best soft device for our product, withoud doing the SD import and debug too many times

Will the planned S332 aligned to S132 3.1? Or 4.0/5.0?

It is planned to align with S132 V4.0.

The release of the s332 4.0 SoftDevice is planned for the end of April.      

Does the 4.0.2 version of s332 support the nRF52840 part? It is reasonably identical to the nRF52832. It just has lots more of all the things I want lots more of.

You can use the S212 and S332 stacks for the nRF52840 as well.

What are the plans for tracking later nRF SDK versions for the S332? SDK 14 and 15 both indicate that the S332 is not suported in these versions and point in the direction of the thisisant.com website.

How fast does the S332 track SDK releases and is there a commitment to ongoing tracking of SDK releases?

Is there any document that outlines the impact of the combined softdevice, i.e. How BLE performance is affected by the presence of the ANT protocol and viceversa. I'm assuming that sharing a tranceiver must have some visible effect on the "other" protocol stack when they are both running.

Hi Nick,

The S332 is supported by the point releases after the release of the X.0 release of the SDK. So for instance, SDK 14.0 did not support the S332, but versions 14.1 and 14.2 did. This should be a similar case for SDK 15.X.

There have been technical workshops given at the ANT Symposium discussing the implications of sharing radio time between ANT and BLE, but those presentations haven't been posted online yet. I'll see if someone can look into that, but if you'd like more information right away, please contact the support e-mail asking for this information and it can be sent directly.
