Does anybody know which device profile is used to communicate with the O-Synce Wireless ANT+ Lap Button?

I am also interested. There looks to be a Contols profile in beta that is probobly the best fit but I have not lookded at the details in that yet. You could also probobly hi-jack something like the audio control. Can't see any details on there web site.

Yes, it uses the new beta version of the Controls profile (an expanded version of Audio Controls). As it's in Beta, it is available to ANT+ Alliance members, but not for general sharing yet, so I can't post more details here - but you are welcome to read it ifor.

Hijacking other profiles isn't allowed on the ANT+ network, although you can do what you like on the public network. If you need access to beta profiles Steve then you are welcome to contact us for info about becoming an Alliance member - otherwise it's just a case of waiting until we have it polished enough to release at Adopter level.

It's an exciting profile - does a lot more than just lap buttons!

Can you give me a rough idea when the profile will be released? Like middle of the year type of thing?

That sounds likely, but I'm not able to give a firm timeline. If you want to be notified of releases, you are welcome to sign up to our RSS feed: http://www.thisisant.com/feeds/tech_bulletin/ We post notifications of new document and software releases here. I have this set up in Outlook and it works nicely.

Hi Steve - and anyone else waiting for the adopter release of the controls device profile: it's going online today!

ANT+ Device Profile - Controls 2.0 will be online in the next couple of hours. Excited to see what you can create from it .

It will include:
- Audio control - as in the original profile, but with a song title transfer feature
- Video control - playback & recording
- Generic control - for menu navigation, and other generic functions
- Keypad control - for sending/receiving characters
