Hello.

I have several questions.

1. HRM data page don't have optional?
I mean every page is required?
In HRM document, page 0 ~ 4 has Transmission Requirements.
But...
I have Garmin Heart Rate Monitor and Timex digital 2.4 Heart Rate Sensor.
I can't see page 0 in ANT Channel Ouput(ANT+ display simulator)....

2. What is unknown page format.
5.3.2 Page 0 or Unknown page Format in 'ANT+ Device Profile Heart Rate Monitor' document.

Re 1: The "heart rate monitor" profile document should exactly specify which pages are mandatory and which are optional.
Re 2: Heart rate is a special case in one respect: there are many heart rate monitors that were designed BEFORE the ANT+ profiles were specified. They only send one page format. Hence, the ANT+ heart rate profile specifies kind of a compatibility mode, i.e. a heart rate display must take care of the pre-profile, one page only transmission format.

Hi!

I moved this topic to the ANT+ HR forum as it's discussing ANT+ data.

As OMB says, this profile has to cope with both legacy and current devices. For any new device being built today the following applies:

For a receiver - all pages shall be supported.

For a heart rate transmitter:
- Either page 0 or 4 shall be sent as the main data page
- Page 2 and 3 shall be supported
- Page 1 is optional

However, because some old devices only transmit a legacy format, you cannot interpret pages until you have seen the toggle bit change. This is explained in section 5.3 of the device profile.
