HI,
I'm working on a new sensor development, using Nordic nRF51422 chip.
by looking on the "Heart Rate Monitor Device Profile" Page 2 Format, under the value of Manufacturer ID. wrote
"Contact the ANT+ Alliance if you wish to be added to this list as a heart rate sensor manufacturer."

How do I get my own Manufacturer ID? can I put a default value instead ?

Thanks.

Hi ttoren,

You can use the developer ID 255 (0xFF) for the manufacturer ID field.

If you would like to be assigned your own manufacturer ID, then you will need to become an ANT+ member (annual fee $1500CAD), then we could assign you a specific manufacturer ID (no additional fee). You would also pay reduced fees for certification, get direct technical support, early access to profile updates, and be invited to the ANT+ annual symposium etc. Probably worth considering when you are close to the manufacturing stage - more details are here: http://www.thisisant.com/business/ant-membership/levels-and-benefits/.

Thanks,

Hi ttoren,

Yes, you can continue to use it. There are a couple of disadvantages to only using the developer ID though:

- Displays or online systems will not be able to show your company name when they find your sensor.
- Using manufacturer specific page numbers will be difficult/unreliable because of not being able to identify the specific manufacturer.

So you can choose whether this matters for you,
