Hi there, considering a project on the Electron platform for cross-OS compatibility, utilizing a library linked to libusb (Linux) or WinUSB (Windows) drivers. If familiar with USB programming and ANT messaging, is additional proprietary knowledge needed to communicate effectively with an ANT USB Stick? Specifically, is a deeper understanding of the USB dongle hardware required, or is establishing serial communications and knowing ANT messaging adequate for monitoring and controlling devices over ANT+ networking?

To monitor and control devices over ANT+ networking, you also need to be familiar with the ANT+ device profiles, which define the standard data formats and communication rules for specific types of devices and activities. For example, there are ANT+ device profiles for heart rate monitors, bike power sensors, running speed and cadence sensors, and so on. These device profiles ensure interoperability and compatibility between different ANT+ devices and applications.
