I am a mechanical design engineer for an exercise bike company. I am charged with developing a cadence sensor to work with the Garmin Edge computer or an iPhone/Droid with an ANT receiver & app.
My question is - do I need to develop my own PCB with ANT chip and reed switch from scratch, or are these available somewhere (naked). I am designing an enclosure to work with our bike and I only need the electronics for the cadence sensor (battery, PCB, reed-switch).
I know only enough about electronics to Frankenstein a Garmin sensor and rearrange the components to fit our enclosure for a rough prototype. I need help with the next step.
