Hello,

I'm not sure this is the right place...

I want to read out data from the ActiGraph wGT3X+ from a Sony Xperia via ANT+. Do I need the ActiLife6 software to establish a connection or initialize the device. Can you give me a hint, to enable the wireless feature?

Hi Schmenti,

I couldn't find the ActiGraph wGT3X on our product directory (http://www.thisisant.com/directory/), which suggests it isn't a certified ANT+ device, and it's not easy for us to find out what it is compatible with.

This suggests the the device can receive ANT+ data from heart rate straps, blood pressure monitors and weight scales, but says nothing about transmitting ANT+ data. So I suspect you will need to use their app.

If you need more information, it's probably best to try contacting the manufacturer.

thank you for your reply. I've got now the ActiLife 6 software license key, but I found no function to initialize ANT+. It seems like you are right, it's not possible.

To make sure I asked (again and more clearly^^) the manufacturer.

Hi, its me again.

the manufacturer replied, but he said, its not possible. My boss think, that it's possible, but they dont want to give us the channel parameters.

What parameters do I need in details to connect? Is there any parameter implicit in my case? Here is the list from the ANT User Guide:

Network
RF Frequency
Transmission Type
Device Type
Channel Type
Channel Period
Data Types
Data Format

I'm sorry but if the data is not being sent as ANT+ then all of the parameters you listed will be manufacturer specific, and I do not know what values they will have chosen. If they chose not to use ANT+, then that means that they didn't want this part of the device to be interoperable, so you'll need to use their solution.

If you want to understand more about the channel parameters then they are explained fully in the ANT Message Protocol and Usage document, particularly in section 5.

Perhaps Actigraph has an app that you could install on the Experia?
