Hi,

Can somebody please give me the target date for the release of the Device Profile for Stationary bike Devices that an ANT+ Adopter can view?

Hi bushstephen,

ANT+ Adopters can already view the ANT+ Fitness Equipment Device Profile version 3.2. This describes the use case outlined here: http://www.thisisant.com/developer/ant-plus/device-profiles/#525_tab which, includes getting data from stationary bikes.

There is a newer revision of the device profile which is only available to ANT+ members at this stage. This adds real-time control for stationary bikes and trainers (indicated by the icon FE-C).

Hope that's helpful,

hi,

also looking for control of stationary bike trainer. Is this FE-C currently in the beta release, am I right that this is only for Alliance Members and Adopters don't have access yet?

is there a release date that this will be made available for Adopters?

many thanks

Appreciate the reply old_man_biking, but still doesn't answer my question....

"There is a newer revision of the device profile which is only available to ANT+ members at this stage.
This adds real-time control for stationary bikes and trainers (indicated by the icon FE-C)."

Do you think ANT+ members means those that have paid $1500 to become ANT+ members?

then the words at this stage kindof implies that it will be made available to other levels of membership.....sorry only just joined these forums.

Not sure it is worth $1500 for just writing my own personal app for my KICKR...I'd really like to use ANT+, otherwise I'll look at the Bluetooth path.

If anyone can enlighten me as to whether the FE-C profile will at some point be made available to Adopter level, I'd be most grateful. If so what is the timeline for that?

I can only repeat my last post. All you've asked for was written in these 2 posts - to my best knowledge.

OMB, are you connected to ANT Wireless / Dynastream?

Kat Kent please clarify

"There is a newer revision of the device profile which is only available to ANT+ members at this stage. This adds real-time control for stationary bikes and trainers (indicated by the icon FE-C)."

At what stage is available for Adopter level (non Alliance Member)?

Hi guys,

Apologies for the slow reply - our whole team was out at the ANT+ Symposium last week. Normal service is resuming from today. Thanks OMB for your help.

I'll answer question by question. If I miss anything let me know!

Yes, 'ANT+ Members' means companies or individuals who pay the $1500 annual fee. ANT+ members get early access to new device profiles, direct technical support, and various other benefits as outlined here: http://www.thisisant.com/business/go-ant/levels-and-benefits/

The only other 'membership' level is ANT+ Adopters - which means anyone who has signed the ANT+ adopter agreement; and therefore has access to most existing device profiles. (I will always refer to this group as ANT+ Adopters).

Yes, FE-C is currently only available to ANT+ Members.
Yes, it will eventually be released to ANT+ Adopters as well.
No, I do not yet have a date for when this release will be. You are not the first person to request the full release though, so I hope to have some updated information soon. The member early release occurred in March this year, so ANT+ members have already had a 6 month head start on the market.

More info about the device profile development process is available here: http://www.thisisant.com/developer/resources/tech-bulletin/why-you-need-to-know-about-ant-device-profile-development/

Hope that helps,

Hi Kat,

Many thanks for this, exactly the information I was looking for. The link is very helpful too

I shall keep an eye out for the full release FE-C for ANT+ Adopters. In the meantime I'll just stub out this aspect of the application.

Apologies for the repeated posts, know that OMB was trying to help, but didn't want it to look like the question was answered so to speak.

Thanks again,
Francis

Hi,
I'd like to ask, if there are some news about "FE-C for adopters".
1) Will it be released for adopters?
2) When will it be released for adopters?

thanks

Hi,

1) Yes.
2) I still can't give a precise date, but it will be within the next six months - possibly less.

Thanks,
