Based on the new ANT+ FE-C protocol the Trainer should provide the Instantaneous Speed (Datapage 16). This is not a problem for most of the trainers but it's not possible for the direct drive trainers.
In fact such trainers haven't the roller and the trainer can't calculate the speed as the speed is function of the wheel circumference.
How can the trainer get such info from the Open Display? The On Demand Data Pages are for the Open Display to request information from the fitness equipment and not viceversa.
EDIT: noted just now the datapage 55.
unfortunately the resolution of the Bicycle Wheel Diameter is high. The resolution of the circumference is 9mm.
as the range is very wide: from 3mm to 7.979 meters. Maybe worth reduce the range and increase the resolution.
